Actually, AC_LANG_PROGRAM calls AC_LANG_SOURCE. Anyway, I was looking
only at the wrong place: language-specific AC_LANG_PROGRAMs. When I
thought they should be calling the corresponding AC_LANG_SOURCEs, I
was already past the generic drivers, and I hadn't registered that it
was the generic AC_LANG_PROGRAM that called the generic
AC_LANG_SOURCE. Sorry

Yep, I hadn't agreed with it because of a non-existing problem.
