Firstly you need to complete a copyright assignment so that the FSF
can accept your contribution. I am attaching an email form for you to
fill out and send off which will start the process rolling.

At the very least you ought to create a new subdirectory in the gas
testsuite and add a test case for the DLX instructions. You should
then make sure that gas can assemble this test case and that objdump
can disassemble it.

You also also run the binutils and ld testsuites and make sure that
there are not too many failures, and that if there are any failures,
you should have a reasonable understanding of their significance. (eg
if the ld-selective tests are failing is this because you have not
implemented selective linking yet, or because there is a bug
somewhere ?)

That should be fine. It is a real boon if you port the simulator to
your architecture as then you can test gcc, g++ etc as well.

Cheers
