Well: at this moment, readline has been autoconf 2.5'd for quite a
while, and libstdc++-v3 just converted to new autoconf and automake a
few days ago.  I have updated patches to convert gas and libiberty,
which I did as a proof of concept right after the summit.

So at this point, I believe that the right thing to do is to wait a
little while longer, make sure no drastic calamities occur in
libstdc++-land, and then just start converting one directory at a time.
If you agree, when I get back from vacation I'll start cranking out
binutils directories.
