Re: [PATCH] ARM - gas: Maximum alignment size augmented to 64

Hi Loïc, unfortunately I was unable to reproduce the build fail, even repeating the very same configure line you showed me. I did reproduce the test error, as shown in my previous post to Matthias.

Please send me some more info (diffs, and errors) to enable me to help.

Thanks,
	Daniel.

Hi Matthias,
I couldn't get the fail, even after updating my sources from mainline.
Could you please provide more details?

I managed to reproduce this issue; using a fresh checkout of binutils, I can get it to built past gas and the testsuite passes, but if I apply the patch: - gas doesn't build without -Wno-error anymore - testsuite doesn't pass anymore

I configure from a build subdir with:
 ../configure --enable-shared --prefix=/usr --build=arm-linux-gnueabi \
    --host=arm-linux-gnueabi --with-pkgversion="GNU Binutils for Ubuntu"
then I make and I make check in gas.

 We filed http://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=10385
erroneously (not noticing this was due to a distro patch) but this
 issue is tracked at
 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/binutils/+bug/398732.

My builds were under Ubuntu karmic/9.10 with gcc 4.4 from Ubuntu.

Our binutils package currently fails in the same way:
