Please excuse me... This does not really belong in this newsgroup, but I can not send mail to Robin Kirkham and I think he will be reading this mailing list. When I try to traceroute his mail host I get the following: traceroute to 130.116.3.1 (130.116.3.1), 30 hops max, 40 byte packets 1 iseunet (194.175.196.1) 1.498 ms 1.42 ms 1.412 ms 2 au.Berlin.de.alter.net (194.174.57.33) 4273.65 ms 32.572 ms 26.525 ms 3 Berlin.de.alter.net (194.174.57.1) 28.442 ms 28.427 ms 28.292 ms 4 cr2.Frankfurt.de.alter.net (139.4.42.217) 50.648 ms 135.135 ms 158.984 ms 5 905.Hssi9-0.CR1.NYC2.ALTER.NET (137.39.131.125) 147.04 ms 146.15 ms 179.809 ms 6 141.ATM3-0-0.XR1.EWR1.ALTER.NET (146.188.177.26) 147.531 ms 145.302 ms 156.98 ms 7 100.ATM11-0-0.TR1.EWR1.ALTER.NET (146.188.176.78) 147.924 ms 148.768 ms 152.336 ms 8 105.ATM4-0-0.TR1.LAX2.ALTER.NET (146.188.137.50) 206.013 ms 199.679 ms 254.991 ms 9 100.ATM4-0-0.XR1.LAX2.ALTER.NET (146.188.248.113) 201.47 ms 225.817 ms 204.473 ms 10 195.ATM1-0-0.GW1.LAX2.ALTER.NET (146.188.248.65) 219.435 ms 210.572 ms 210.324 ms 11 optuscom-gw.customer.ALTER.NET (157.130.224.138) 211.122 ms 258.647 ms 211.733 ms 12 hssi-10.sydint1.optus.net.au (192.65.89.77) 521.681 ms 522.462 ms 528.55 ms 13 aarnet-vic-intl1.syd.optus.net.au (192.65.88.194) 542.291 ms 536.532 ms 541.382 ms 14 vic-gw.vrn.EDU.AU (203.21.130.162) 542.35 ms 538.191 ms 533.985 ms 15 super-gw.vrn.EDU.AU (203.21.130.138) 550.398 ms 542.241 ms 557.646 ms 16 144.110.1.246 (144.110.1.246) 635.244 ms 663.624 ms 544.227 ms 17 144.110.1.246 (144.110.1.246) 1513.63 ms * * 18 144.110.1.246 (144.110.1.246) 1872.66 ms 536.749 ms 543.227 ms 19 144.110.1.246 (144.110.1.246) 545.491 ms 552.293 ms 542.213 ms 20 144.110.1.246 (144.110.1.246) 539.967 ms 535.145 ms 543.985 ms 21 144.110.1.246 (144.110.1.246) 536.067 ms 551.238 ms 552.433 ms 22 144.110.1.246 (144.110.1.246) 555.677 ms 542.908 ms 564.281 ms 23 144.110.1.246 (144.110.1.246) 535.891 ms 546.755 ms 563.23 ms 24 144.110.1.246 (144.110.1.246) 558.69 ms 557.828 ms 743.938 ms 25 144.110.1.246 (144.110.1.246) 771.051 ms 675.885 ms 722.496 ms 26 144.110.1.246 (144.110.1.246) 671.745 ms 658.807 ms 737.035 ms 27 144.110.1.246 (144.110.1.246) 792.545 ms 885.793 ms 889.586 ms 28 144.110.1.246 (144.110.1.246) 903.952 ms 901.287 ms 945.059 ms 29 144.110.1.246 (144.110.1.246) 987.185 ms 1198.97 ms 1015.11 ms 30 144.110.1.246 (144.110.1.246) 996.18 ms 1080 ms 1072.88 ms I have tried for some time now, and I think there is a routing loop somewhere in Australia. Rolf, Would it be possible for you to let us have a copy of your BDM package? We're using GNU tools on a Sun to develop stuff for CPU32 systems, and using a HMI serial BDM, but the front-end software is not very good. Something simple on Linux (or LynxOS) would be better for us. Even if it doesn't quite suit us, it would be a helpful starting point.
