Someone on another list mentionned something that sparked a fossilised neuron at the back of my brain: handhelds.org provides ARM-based public machines, to which you can telnet and upload files:

Hey, that's handy! I could do some testing of static binaries with that. Unfortunately I need root to test dynamically linked binaries, so this won't quite do it for my full tests.
My wife and I just had our first baby, so it's unlikely I'll have time to run my build-and-test script on other architectures anytime soon. Guess I'm hoping others will take up the challenge, and start helping send feedback to the gcc folks about what patches are needed to make good gcc-3.3.2 and gcc-3.4 crosscompilers for their favorite processor. - Dan
