I have looked at this and it seems out of date. Your gcc-*-glibc-*.dat files seem to be the best source of this information.I think it is, occasionally. Best I have is a list of working combinations, kind of, in gcc-*-glibc-*.dat in crosstool. Also the chart at http://www.embeddedtux.org/gnu-tools.html
By the way, to the original poster, your subject line contains an important typo. GLIB != GLIBC. Getting them confused can cause, um, confusion :-)
