Re: My IXP425 binutils/gcc/glibc patches

This one has been in bugzilla for half a year (originally made for
a big-endian IXP2400):

http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=16350

Sorry for being somewhat acerbic about the whole gcc thing, but no thanks. Until they apply it I'll just keep applying it by hand myself with each new release -- less work for all of us.

Part of your frustration might come from the fact that half the time, the gcc folks can't accept patches because the branch is frozen. Why not watch for the next time the mainline is unfrozen (i.e., right after they fork off gcc4), and repost any pending patches against mainline? That'd give you a good shot at getting them in.

just wondering if you've seen this website?

http://www.inf.u-szeged.hu/gcc-arm/

seems like they are willing to follow up on gcc bugzilla reports, and
mention that new reports are welcome. maybe they can help get your patch
merged?

Worth a try.

or is merging just a matter of time since dan kegel picked
up the patch for crosstool?

Don't count on me to do anything any time soon - I have tendinitis, an 18 month old son, and am completely overloaded. - Dan
