adding NPTL support to the toolchain build process

Subject: adding NPTL support to the toolchain build process

  ok, i'm still running into grief trying to get NPTL support into the
crosstool build process.  if someone has a couple of minutes and the
knowledge, could he/she summarize the configure/build options at each
stage in crosstool to add NPTL thread support?

  that is, where to add --enable-threads, --with-__thread and so on?
i'm sure i'm just missing a critical option somewhere.  thanks.
