Yes. Full EABI build from scratch.  My adventures have been documented on this
list. :-)

I only enabled support for the old ABI to verify the problem.  I was using the
mtd for the rootfs, but since I was having a little trouble with that anyway I
put everything on the microdrive, booted into a different distro with my new
kernel, and tried chrooting.
