crosstool gcc-3.2.3-glibc-2.3.2 for x86_64

Hi,

Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask - I'm attempting to use crosstool to build a x86_64 gcc-3.2.3 crosscompiler, so I can produce x86_64 libstdc++.so.5-based binaries on my RHEL4 i386 system.I have to do this as I need binaries that work on x86_64 RHEL3, which does not ship with libstdc++.so.6.. From the buildmatrix on http://www.kegel.com/crosstool/crosstool-0.42/buildlogs/ I see that none of the gcc-3.2(or earlier) builds are operational. Has anyone been successful in getting these to work?
Alternatively, can anyone suggest a way to produce binaries that compile on RHEL4 running on an i686 that will run on RHEL3 on an x86_64? The compat-gcc packages that ship with RHEL lack -m64 support :(

Thanks

Ewan
