FATAL: kernel too old

Subject: FATAL: kernel too old

I used crosstool-1.8.1 to build a rootfs and when I ran 'gdb' it says:
"FATAL: kernel too old. Segmentation Error"

I'm using 2.6.33 kernel, why am I getting this? has anyone seen this?
I used kernel headers 2.6.33.3 for glibc/gcc.
