Rainer, Yann, All, As per our discussion on http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=49555#c9 I'd like to open a discussion on configuration options used in crosstool-ng. Rainer is not subscribed to the crossgcc mailing list, so please make sure to keep him cc'd on this thread. So to start; this is spawned from my lack of better understanding of the inter- workings of gcc and binutils and how they are affected by the configuration options passed to them during the bootstrap procedure. As I just learned, --enable-symvars manually was something (maybe) needed by sh4 at one point, and worked for other architectures... maybe by mistake or luck, but was probably not correct. My personal views on the configuration and make procedures up until now has been: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." But if enabling symvars manual is wrong, what else are we doing wrong? At anyrate, the source can be browsed here: http://crosstool-ng.org/hg/crosstool-ng/summary and you can check it out using mercurial: hg clone http://crosstool-ng.org/hg/crosstool-ng crosstool-ng -Bryan -- For unsubscribe information see http://sourceware.org/lists.html#faq
