Error .fixdep.d: Invalid argument

I'm trying to use ct-ng in slackware (13.37) to build a cross-compiler for my Raspberry Pi.

The error message is:
fixdep: error fstat'ing depfile: scripts/basic/.fixdep.d: Invalid argument
