Good, I was beginning to wonder ;-).  After all users are allowed to
declare ISO-C functions themself without actually including any
headers [*], so just re-defining stuff in the headers wouldn't work.

  [*] Of course doing so is not good practice, as users are going to
  do it wrong, but that's not the point.
