The following package has been updated in the Cygwin net distribution:

*** libXfont-devel-1.4.1-2

This release is built with only a static library.  Due to incomplete 
support for weak symbol linkage, xorg-server must currently be built 
with a static libXfont.  Doing so when a shared library is also built 
requires jumping through some hoops which can be difficult to do when 
building from git without using the .cygport file.

libXfont1 remains in the distro for now so as to not break existing 
clients, but linking against it is no longer supported.
