GCC 1.1.2 strang behavior

Mumit,
egcs 1.1.2 with Cygwin snapshot of July 3, 1999 is doinf bizzare hings. It
will report once in a while
a compiler error. But when i cd to that directory and type the gcc command
manually
it compiles, the same file. Sometime it also reports missing files (file
not found) but cd'ing to
that directory and typing the gcc and flags mannually will create the object
file.

The -save-temps files are attached.
