Text fields in X/Motif applications non-editable

Greetings,

The cygwin X-Server XWin.exe starts up fine on my Win NT 4.0 SP5
workstation.
However, when launching any executable from an xterm warning messages scroll
down the xterm like the following snippet:

Warning: translation table syntax error: Unknown keysym name: osfActivate
Warning: ... found while parsing ':<Key>osfActivate:
ManagerParentActivate()'
  Warning: StringtoTranslationTable conversion encountered errors
  .
  .
  .

The application pops up, but I am unable to type any characters into
textfields
known to be editable on the SGI platform. I suspect the problems is related
to
the parsing of files in /usr/X11R6/X11/bindings/, presumably the file 'pc'
within
that directory. Does anyone have any insight into this problem?

Thanks,

Lyman Neuschaefer
