Harold,
Test 6 didn't crash, but I got a Fatal Error :
---
C:\usr\X11R6\bin>Xwin -screen 0 800x600x16 -whitepixel 255 -blackpixel 0
_XSERVTransmkdir: Owner of /tmp/.X11-unix should be set to root

winInitVisuals () - Returning
winScreenInit () - Returned from winInitVisuals ()
winCreateBoundingWindow () - WorkArea width 1024 height 740
winCreateBoundingWindow () - Adjusted width: 800 height: 600
winCreateBoundingWindow () - WindowClient width 800 height 600
Fatal server error:
winCreateBoundingWindow () - Could not allocate a bitmapfor the shadow
buffer.
Possible reasons for failure:
1) Physical memory is running low. Free some memory
and try again.
2) Windows resouce handles running low. Try running
Cygwin/XFree86 first thing after rebooting.
C:\usr\X11R6\bin>
---
I closed everything except a cygwin bash shell and a DOS shell and tried
again with the same results.
I rebooted, opened a bash shell and a DOS shell and tried again with the
same results.
I went back to Test 4 and that still works.
