I tried Clive's suggestion to use a fixed IP address instead of my DHCP
attributed address, and also I tried the -from option. To no avail :
XWin95 -screen 0 1024x768x16 -whitepixel 255 \
-blackpixel 0 -query 129.227.62.246 \
-from 129.227.62.61 &
xhost + &
_XSERVTransmkdir: Owner of /tmp/.X11-unix should be set to root
winCreateB... () - Adjusted width: 1018 height: 715
winCreateB... () - width: 1018 height: -715
winCreateB... () - dibsection width: 1018 height: -715
error opening security policy file /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xserver/SecurityPolicy
Fatal server error:

$ xhost: unable to open display "129.227.62.61:0.0"
BTW, and in case this helps, I also have an NT4.0 deskstop machine (which
also gets its IP from DHCP...) with Cygwin 1.1.8 + XFree 4.0 (not 4.0.3)
where I can get the XDMCP working with this very Solaris server (although I
have another weird problem: no text is visible. Looks like it cannot
find/print fonts. But it does not complain about it). I would rather prefer
to get my Win95 laptop working if I can...
