RE: X server shell?

Which OS, 9x or ME?

You need cygwin 1.3.1, if you do not have upgraded Cygwin yet.

Subject: X server shell?

I'm new to cygwin... I installed it all with the guide on the web page..
the console work great! I
installed cygwin/xfree and when I run
"C:\cygwin\usr\X11R6\bin\startxwin.bat" I get this :

_XSERVTransmkdir: Owner of /tmp/.X11-unix should be set to root
winDetectSupportedEngines () - Windows 95/98/Me
winDetectSupportedEngines () - DirectDraw installed
winDetectSupportedEngines () - DirectDraw4 installed

winInitVisualsShadowDDNL () - Returning
error opening security policy file
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xserver/SecurityPolicy

then a window open, the X server.. not fullscreen... well I only have a
gray background and my
mouse cursor is a big black "X" and it stay there forever... I know in
linux we get there before
it load the shell but I think I don't have any shell (windows managers)
and I checked the cygwin
page I can't find some.. is it normal? Oh and there is something in the
guide that I don't
understand.. the vhost and telnet connection thing... it don't work and
I don't understand why we
need to make a host/client....
