XDMCP No valid address (Win98SE)

Xwin is running on Win98SE, the XDMCP host is running on Debian.

I'd love to be able to use my M$ box as a dumb Xterm (seems fitting). What's going wrong here? From the mailing list archives I understand -query doesn't work with Win95, but it's supposed to work with Win98.
