RE: Backticks in 4.1.0


Suhaib,

Thanks for the prompt reply.  I ran a few more experiments.  I still
get the backticks even when:

1. I run without window manager.

2. I disable McAfee Virus Scan.

3. I change the screen parameters from 1280x1024x32 to 1280x1024x16 in
   the call to XWin.

I didn't mention it explicitly, but just in case..., the backticks
only show up in the xfree windows.  I've seen them with xterms, rxvts,
and with emacs.
