1) Do you have some VPN, particularly Aventail, installed?
2) What kind of PATHs are these?
C:\Download\WinME\Software\Cygwin\xfree\startup-scripts>SET
PATH=.;\cygwin\bin;\cygwin\usr\X11R6\bin;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND
If you installed cygwin in c:\Download\WinME\Software\Cygwin
Then you need to install xfree in
c:\Download\WinME\Software\Cygwin\usr\X11R6
DO NOT INVENT some abnormal paths.
