Alexander,
Oops. I applied your patch, then I looked at its output for X11-def.cpp
versus the X11-def.cpp in the CVS tree. First off, there is extra info at
the top of the file in the CVS tree: LIBRARY and VERSION. Secondly, there
is a branch (and this is typical of the other *-def.cpp files) between
__CYGWIN__ and !__CYGWIN__, with the list of definitions for both platforms
apparently being manually updated.
In summary, it doesn't look like we can automate the process; however, that
isn't so bad as the process is not automated for other XFree86 platforms
either (I had forgotten that other platforms need the *-def.cpp files).
I guess we'll have to skip that patch for now.
