RE: CDE Hangs on login with Xfree



Openwindows is being discontinued as you rightly say. In addition CDE is
being dropped as Sun are adopting GNOME.

Have you tried setting CDE as default desktop environment on the Sun
machines?

The OpenWindows will be a history in next release of Solaris.  I read that
due to several issues and incomplabilities Sun plans to discontnue
OpenWindows for good.
