What does the link-command look like?

Hmm Smc, no idea.. could it be -lSM, that needs to be added (see below)

| to `IceConnectionNumber'
| /usr/X11R6/lib/libXt.a(Shell.o)(.text+0x3cb1):Shell.c: undefined reference

Ice missing.. try fridge.. or -lICE after -lX11 in the
command-line.. :-)
