cygwin-xfree performance using 127.0.0.1:0.0 vs computer_ip:0.0

Greetings,

I have noticed a significant speed penelty (factors of 2 to 10) when 
using 127.0.0.1 (localhost) versus my machines assigned IP
with cygwiw-xfree. This has been tested and verified for NT-4 SP5 and 
Win2K (SP2) on different PCs.

Any explanation?
remedy?
