Hi.
I tried to recompil X 4.2.0. So I downloaded X420src-1.tgz, -2 and -3
from ftp://ftp.xfree86.org/pub/XFree86/4.2.0/source/ and unpacked it in
~/X-Sources.
Next I created a dir ~/X-Sources/build/std, cd'd to this directory and
did lndir ../../xc, as described in the Cygwin/XFree86 Contributor's
Guide on http://xfree86.cygwin.com/docs/cg/cygwin-xfree-cg.html.
I then ran "make World > World.log 2>&1 && make install > install.log
2>&1 && make install.man > install.man.log 2>&1". After quite some
time, everything was done. Besides quite a lot of "<command line>:1:1:
warning: "__STDC__" redefined" messages, there were no errors (I
searched the World.log for "error").
Now, when I start "startx" on the Cygwin bash prompt, I get a Windows
error message box:
Die Anwendung konnte nicht richtig initialisiert werden (0xc0000022).
There's no /tmp/XWinrl.log file which I could post here :(
Any ideas about what went wrong during compilation? I used gcc 3.2.
Thanks a lot,
Alexander Skwar
