xterm windows keep varporizing

Since upgrading to xorg-x11 version 6.8.99.901-1, my xterm windows keep
varporizing for reasons I do not understand.  There is no cras file and
I do not see any entries in my log files.  This happens sporadically
while I'm working, and a couple times a window quit while coming up.,
I start my windows with
 XWin -unixkill -clipboard -multiwindow &
and I bring up xterm windows with commands like
 xterm -j -sb -bg white -fg darkblue -cr green -ms red -bd red -geometry 80x84+77+0 -name left  >>& $LOG &

I attach the output of
 cygcheck -s -v -r > cygcheck.out
