You may also want to check out "mktclapp", a nifty little package that
takes tcl scripts and compiles them into a C source code program that, in
my experience so far, has been quite portable between Unix (IRIX) and
cygwin/mingw32. It may not be exactly what you want to do, but you could
at least see how it's handling the main routines to get some ideas on how
to make your program work portably.
