I added an entry to the FAQ about this.

But what about /usr/local?  I have this mounted elsewhere, setup
doesn't clear it, and latest/opengl-1.1.0-2.tar.gz gets installed in
the wrong place.  (Perhaps opengl is packaged wrong?)
