RE: Eterm / Imlib2 / freetype

You realize that Windows platforms don't support .so right?
You'll have to build a DLL if you're not already (really)
doing that. I don't know if this will solve your problem
but given the information you've provided so far, it makes
sense to question your implied assumption.

Subject: Eterm / Imlib2 / freetype

Hello,

I was trying to find a terminal not only capable of supporting
transparency, but also capable of tinting (or shading, if you will) the
transparent background. rxvt does not seem to handle this. I found
Eterm to be a feasible solution. Problem is that to compile Eterm, I
need imlib2 (I could not find any reference to anyone building this
under cygwin successfully), which, in turn, requires libttf.so - a
dynamically linked freetype 1.2 library.

I followed ths instructions for building a .so for freetype, but imlib2
does not seem to like it (dies during the configure script, saying that
the library cannot be found).

Is there an old libftt.so that I can download? Any suggestions for
compiling freetype / imlib2? Are there any alternatives to using
Eterm?

Thanks, in advance,
Paul Grinberg.
