Sorry.
I haven't said I have tried it before: it works for a local file, but it does not work (for me) to a remote syslogd.
So hence the question.


I've looked at previous posts about this issue, but they were more than a year old, so I hoped the problem could be solved now.

I put "local1.* @hostname" in syslog.conf

and then:

$ net stop syslogd
$ net start syslogd
$ logger -p local1.info Message to hostname

But I don't found the message anywere, nor in the local /var/log/messages nor in the remote one.
