Re: Mount does not show Samba files

Arun Biyani wrote:
I am having some problems accessing files on a Linux server in Cygwin. The files are
exported via Samba. I can see the whole directory using my computer, which shows
a Y: directory on machine Goddard. However, "ls /y" prints no such file. What am
I doing wrong? This used to work. Transcript below.

[cygwin$:515] net use \\\\goddard\\abiyani y:
The command completed successfully.

You don't need to do this since you've mounted the UNC path below but since you did, what does 'ls /cygdrive/y' say?

[cygwin$:516] ls /y
ls: /y: No such file or directory
[cygwin$:517] mount
C:\win\cygwin\bin on /usr/bin type system (binmode)
C:\win\cygwin\lib on /usr/lib type system (binmode)
\\goddard\abiyani on /y type system (binmode,noexec)
C:\win\cygwin on / type system (binmode)
c: on /c type system (binmode,noumount)
i: on /i type system (binmode,noumount)
s: on /s type system (binmode,noumount)
[cygwin$:518] ls /y
ls: /y: No such file or directory

What does 'ls //goddard/abiyani' say?

[cygwin$:519] mount //goddard/abiyani /y
mount: /y: Device or resource busy

Right. You've mounted here already.
