OK thats clear, I'm just wondering as obviously a lot of people use them
why nobody tried to port them yet. I know I don't because I lack the
knowledge.

Mhhh, yeah I can imagine having compiled it a few time on several
linuxes. Would be same same problem if anyone would try to port cygwin
to another platform I guess :-)
