Problems Installing Cygwin on Win XP Pro

I finally carved out some time to install CygWin on my Win XP machine via the RedHat Cygwin official installation facility. I downloaded rhsetup.exe to start.

I requested install via the internet, and it died somewhere along the line. I then tried again, requesting download instead. I now have about 120 folders in my download folder for cygwin. I don't see any indication it installed. I was expecting some (exe) install program somewhere.

Maybe it installed. However, I see no trace of anything on the Win Start->All Prog menu of its existence, nor do I see an icon on my desktop. Looking at the folder where the download took place, I see a top level folder called
...\ftp%3a%2f%2fftp.ges.redhat.com%2fprivate%2freleng%2fcygwin-latest

There are two files: setup.log and setup.log.full
The last lines in setup.log are:
  2009/04/18 23:54:35 note: Download Complete
  2009/04/18 23:54:35 Ending cygwin install
The last lines in ...log.full are:
  2009/04/18 23:54:35 note: Download Complete
  2009/04/18 23:54:35 Ending cygwin instal

Below folder ftp%... is the release folder. In it is setup.ini.

Below release are some 100+ folders. The first is called alternatives. Others are gcc, db, cvs, bash, ...
