Problem with git on Cygwin 1.7

Hello!
When I try to fetch the branch with git (git 1.6.2.4, Cygwin 1.7) I get this:
git: 'index-pack' is not a git-command. See 'git --help'.
fatal: index-pack failed
Any known workarounds?
