Bug report: My cygwin-1.7 installation has been running Apache2 with mod_perl (from cygwin ports) very successfully for two or three months. Yesterday I installed cygwin 1.7.0-64 from setup (replacing 1.7.0-62, I believe). Now cygserver fails on startup with a segmentation fault. I tried installing cygwin 1.7.0-63 from setup, but cygserver still failed the same way. Finally, I reinstalled 1.7.0-64 from setup, and generated this report. In every case, I ran rebaseall and restarted Windows after running setup. This is an ordinary corporate office workstation running Win XP SP3, corporate AV, Lotus Notes client, etc,, none of which has previously caused me any problems with this Cygwin installation. It now has 3.5 GB of memory. Details follow. cygcheck.out is attached. 755890@D73115DM ~ $ uname -v 2009-11-10 13:03 755890@D73115DM ~ $ /usr/bin/cygserver-config Overwrite existing /etc/cygserver.conf file? (yes/no) yes Generating /etc/cygserver.conf file Further configuration options are available by editing the configuration file /etc/cygserver.conf. Please read the inline information in that file carefully. The best option for the start is to just leave it alone. Basic Cygserver configuration finished. Have fun! 755890@D73115DM ~ $ /usr/sbin/cygserver -e -l 7 cygserver: daemon starting up Segmentation fault (core dumped) 755890@D73115DM ~ $ cat cygserver.exe.stackdump Exception: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION at eip=6C4E8010 eax=61146000 ebx=00000002 ecx=6C4E8010 edx=00414B50 esi=00000000 edi=00000000 ebp=0022BFB8 esp=0022BF7C program=C:\cygwin-1.7\usr\sbin\cygserver.exe, pid 3868, thread main cs=001B ds=0023 es=0023 fs=003B gs=0000 ss=0023 Stack trace: Frame Function Args 0022BFB8 6C4E8010 (00418100, 0041461B, 00000000, 00000000) 0022BFD8 00407EAF (00000724, 00000000, 0022CD10, 00000000) 0022CD68 00401BDF (0022D008, 00000002, 6119FAEE, 61006DDA) 0022CDA8 61006DDA (00000000, 0022CDE0, 610066E0, 7FFDA000) End of stack trace
