Better yet, don't trigger the warning in the first place, by using POSIX
paths from the get-go:

c:/cygwin/bin/sh.exe -c /cygdrive/c/cygwin/bin/mkdir.exe -p
'/cygdrive/c/cygwin/tmpdir'
