Re: Changing Home Directory

Hi All,

I just installed Cygwin and found that my home directory is defined by
Windows HOME environment variable.

My question is how I can change my cygwin home directory without changing
the Windows HOME variable, in other words to use /etc/mkpasswd?

Cheers!

I had this problem regularly when working with Active Directory domains. I wanted everything kept in c:\cygwin\home for portability.

To do this, I just modified the file "/etc/passwd" to provide a new cygwin path.

Jason.
