After various upgrades, including switching to cygsshd, the exim service was failing to launch. The error log showed Unable to setuid/gid to exim. priv_flags: 1 It worked up until recently, using cyg_server as the privileged user. That user still exists: > id cyg_server uid=197611(cyg_server) gid=197121(None) groups=197121(None),114(Local account and member of Administrators group),544(Administrators),545(Users),2(NETWORK),11(Authenticated Users),15(This Organization),113(Local account),4094(OtherSession),262154(NTLM Authentication),405504(High Mandatory Level) But the setuid/gid error above suggests there's something wrong with it? So I used the Windows Services tool to change to "Log on as" "Local System account" (as cygsshd is using), and I _think_ that has fixed the problem. Was the the right thing to do? Should /usr/share/doc/Cygwin/exim-4.86-1.README and/or exim-config be updated to reflect this?
