You have to use the more general bibliography elements (bibliomixed,
bibliomset, etc.) instead of series info in your instances. But it's
not a DSSSL problem, the stylesheets will continue to work with older
instances.

You've just got a legacy problem, you must have composed biblio.xml using
DocBook 3.x and now you've changed the DOCTYPE to DocBook 4.x. So you
have to fix those few things that are backwards incompatible, and loss
of seriesinfo is one of them.
