Hmmm, this is wierd ... I have done the above, and it still did not fix
the problem.
So, then, since I have another machine with RH7.1 (among other things) on it, I installed TeTeX, OpenJade, JadeTex, etc.
Then I tried to do pdfjadetex on a simple 20-page test document I have
(on the tex ...) and it screwed up the same way.
jadetex on the tex works however.
pdfjadetex on a clean machine gives me:
(Fatal format file error; I'm stymied)
