DocBook with AbiWord?

If you save an AbiWord document as DocBook, it creates a DocBook XML
4.1.2 file. You can then process your file as you would normally.

I just downloaded AbiWord 0.9.6, and would like to give this a try for
writing my articles. But it's not apparent how I could get full use of
docbook from AbiWord. I asked about this on the
abiword-dev@abisource.com mailing list, but I thought I'd ask here too,
if anyone has any tips on using AbiWord to make docbook documents.

AbiWord is an open source WYSIWYG word processor. It's native file
format is XML. It imports and exports a number of file formats - you
could potentially use Abiword to convert Microsoft Word documents to
docbook. You can get it for various *nixes, Windows, and Mac OS X from
http://www.abisource.com I think there may be some other ports
available too, like QNX. It's also been localized to quite a few
languages.
