sorry but my version of xsltproc produces exactty the same output your doc on 
the web at http://xmlsoft.org/XSLT/xsltproc2.html shows, and with 
--stringparam it reports that option as unknown:
Unknown option --stringparam

with --version it reports:
Using libxml 20403, libxslt 10003 and libexslt 301

the whole thing is running on a S.u.S.E. 7.3 Box...
