Re: line before footnote area


I think what's desired is theoretically doable using 
an fo:static-content formatting object with a "flow-name" 
property value of "xsl-footnote-separator". 

See the last paragraph in section 6.4.1.4 of the XSL spec.

However, not all XSL-FO implementations support this.
