And you can process XML files with either the XSL and DSSSL
tools.  Invest your learning time in XML.

Then your choice is XSL vs. DSSSL stylesheets.

....use Jade or OpenJade with DSSSL for print output.

The other factor that comes into the equation - do you want to customise the print output stylesheets? If so, you will have to become familiar with either XSL or DSSL.


If you understand XML then XSL customisation is relatively straight forward, with plenty of help available via this list; if you know Lisp then the DSSL stylesheets will make sense, otherwise be prepared for a steep learning experience, with less people being able to offer help.
