I've upgraded to Fop 0.20.5 and first run into an endless loop with the
following messages (just recorded here for the next searching for it in the
archives):

[ERROR] Couldn't find hyphenation pattern de
[ERROR] Error building hyphenation tree for language de

I was able to solve the problem by adding <xsl:param
name="hyphenate">false</xsl:param> to my customization layer as Alastair J
Rankine described in
http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/docbook-apps/200305/msg00172.html
(thanks!).

And you were right - with Fop 0.20.5 all the error messages about fo:marker
have vanished!

Thank you very much once more,
