It's quite all right. Thanks to Peter's top link I was able to find
something that worked quickly and easily, the Docsoft's w2XML, and will
use its trial for the quick presentation I have on DocBook tomorrow.
If only they weren't so pricey for a full version with CHM output ($400)
I might actually buy the suite.
On the by-the-by, is there any solid Open Source project dedicated to
creating universal file-conversion utility? It would be bloody nice.

FYI, the xmerge filters are based on Simplified Docbook, not full
Docbook, and I do not think they are complete...
